Murder inquiry after fight

POLICE have launched a murder investigation after a man died following a fight.

Two men, aged 54 and 28, were injured during the row with another man in Bellshill, Lanarkshire, at around 9:30pm on Saturday night.

The pair were taken to Monklands District Hospital where the 28-year-old man died shortly afterwards.

The 54-year-old man remains in a serious condition.

Detective Inspector Bob Frew, of Strathclyde Police, said: "We believe the men were involved in an altercation at the property in Mavisbank Gardens with another male."
