Mum's cooking simply the best

Mother knows best when it comes to the kitchen, according to a survey released yesterday.

Given the choice, 40 per cent of Britons would choose their mother's home cooking over their partner's or even a meal cooked by a top chef in a five-star restaurant.

Men in particular appreciate their home comforts, with 29 per cent preferring their mother's home cooking to their mates and even their football team.

The poll of 1,178 British adults was commissioned by Richmond Sausages. Derek Williamson, the firm's marketing director, said: "An overwhelming 40 per cent of the population prefer their mum's home cooking to anyone else's."
