Multiple sex offender jailed for seven and a half years
Gavin Murray molested two girls in his youth before assaulting the sleeping woman at a house in Edinburgh.
Murray's sex crimes began in 1979 and the assault with intent to rape the woman occurred in 1991. But his former child victims only reported the abuse to police in 2008 when "they were strong enough", the High Court in Edinburgh heard yesterday.

Hide AdDuring an earlier phone call one victim revealed Murray had repeatedly sexually abused her when she was younger.
The other then confided in her that she was also targeted by him.
Murray, 42, sexually assaulted one of the girls before she was 11 and during an attack on the second, who was 14 or 15 at the time, she thought she was going to be raped.
The sex attack in 1991 took place after the victim felt tired and under the influence of alcohol and went to lie down in a bedroom at a house in Edinburgh.
Murray earlier admitted committing the sex offences against the girls and the woman at addresses in Edinburgh.
He was placed on the sex offenders' register.
