Mubarak defends Egyptian elections

Egypt's president Hosni Mubarak said yesterday that the recent parliamentary elections in which his party won a massive victory were lawful despite a few irregularities.

His announcement comes after international and local human rights activists condemned widespread rigging and called for the results to be annulled.
