MSP in tribute to veterans

Housing and Communities Minister Alex Neil was set to visit Scotland's oldest veterans charity in Edinburgh today, commemorating its 100 years of support for Scottish veterans.

Since 1910 the Scottish Veterans Residences has helped over 60,000 Scottish veterans, offering accommodation, links with other veterans and help to adapt to civvy street.

In an address to veterans and military personnel, the minister will unveil a commemorative bronze sculpture to pay tribute to the bravery of Scotland's forces and the vital work of Scottish veterans organisations.
