MSP Alison Johnstone waives council wage

A CITY councillor and newly-elected MSP has decided to waive her councillor salary.

Alison Johnstone has represented the Meadows and Morningside area for the Greens since 2007 and has just been elected as Lothians MSP.

She said: "It's always been my intention, if elected as an MSP, not to draw my councillor salary during my remaining year as a councillor."
