MP's wife to face 'kitten theft' trial

AN MP's wife is to stand trial in February, charged with burgling the home of her husband's lover and stealing a kitten.

Christine Hemming, wife of Birmingham Lib Dem MP John Hemming, allegedly burgled the home of Emily Cox, a researcher with whom her husband had a child in 2005. She was granted provisional bail at the city's magistrates' court yesterday.
