MP's warning on computer games sector

A DECISION not to offer tax breaks for the video games industry could put jobs at risk in Scotland.

Members of the Commons Scottish affairs select committee met yesterday at the Dundee's Abertay University to discuss a new 5 million project there, which is expected to create up to 30 new companies and 400 jobs.

Dundee West Labour MP Jim McGovern warned "The coalition government's decision to scrap a tax break for the games industry was a major blow to Dundee and I have taken every opportunity to put pressure on the government to change its mind.

"We cannot risk losing these jobs and investment in Scotland."
