MP welcomes terror suspect torture inquiry

Edinburgh West Liberal Democrat MP Mike Crockart has welcomed the UK coalition government's promise of an inquiry into whether Britain's security services were complicit in the torture of terror suspects.

It has been alleged that after the 9/11 terrorist attacks a series of "extraordinary rendition" flights landed in the UK and then allowed prisoners in US custody to be transferred to other countries where they would then be tortured.

Mr Crockart said: "I welcome the announcement from the Prime Minister that we are finally going to have a full investigation."
