MP welcomes cheque U-turn

EDINBURGH West Lib Dem MP Mike Crockart has welcomed the U-turn on plans to scrap cheques by 2018.

The UK Payments Council has now said cheques will continue for as long as needed. Mr Crockart said: "For small businesses and sole traders cheques are a crucial form of payment."
