MP questions ChildLine axe

EDINBURGH South MP Ian Murray has raised the closure of ChildLine's Edinburgh branch in the House of Commons.

He said the NSPCC's closure decision, which will result in the loss of 14 staff and hundreds of volunteers, was intended to encourage children to use the internet.

But he warned: "There is concern that those who are most in need of ChildLine have the least access to the internet."

Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg agreed to arrange meetings on the issue.
