MP backs ID check scheme

LOCAL youngsters have been urged to sign up to the ‘No ID, No Sale!’ campaign, which aims to ensure only adults can buy lottery tickets, tobacco and other age-restricted goods.

Edinburgh’s Liberal Democrat MP Mike Crockart called on retailers to support the scheme as he spoke at a Scotmid Co-Operative store in Drum Brae.

Mr Crockart said: “I already have 514 CitizenCard cardholders in my constituency but I am urging all young adults in Edinburgh West to obtain a CitizenCard or a YoungScot Card that contains the police-endorsed PASS hologram.”
