Mountain biking boost launched

A NEW scheme to build up Scotland's reputation as a premier mountain biking destination and develop the sport's national and international profile was unveiled yesterday.

The country's first framework for developing the sport at a national level was launched at Bannerman High School in Glasgow, which has Europe's only inner-city mountain bike trail.

Devised by the Scottish Mountain Bike Development Consortium, the framework aims to create sustainable development of the sport around the country, building on its current international status as one of the best destinations for bikers.
