Motorway closed after collision

A SECTION of the M8 motorway was closed last night following a serious road accident involving two cars.

The eastbound side of the main route between Edinburgh and Glasgow, between junctions nine and ten, was shut for several hours following the collision. The accident happened at 5:10pm yesterday afternoon. The condition of the drivers is unknown.

Strathclyde Police are seeking information from the public following the accident which involved a silver car and a white van. A police spokeswoman said: "We are appealing for any witnesses to come forward."
