Motorcyclist killed in collision with car

A MOTORCYCLIST died yesterday after colliding with a car on one of Scotland's most dangerous roads.

The accident happened on a stretch of the A82 two miles north of Drumnadrochit in the Highlands at around 5.45pm. The road was closed for several hours to allow accident investigators to examine the scene.

Northern Constabulary did not release any other details and are appealing for witnesses.

Two adults and two children were seriously injured in another accident yesterday when two coaches collided in North Yorkshire.

The accident happened just before 11.30am on the A170 near Pickering.

A spokeswoman for the Yorkshire Ambulance Service said there were a "number of walking wounded" and several people had been checked over by a doctor at the scene but did not need hospital treatment.

The coaches were carrying 100 people and a car was also involved. A total of 20 people were injured.
