Motorcyclist killed in A9 collision named

A MOTORCYCLIST has died after his Yamaha bike was involved in a collision with a pick-up vehicle on the notorious A9 Perth to Inverness road yesterday.

The accident happened near the junction with the unclassified road leading to the B9099 Luncarty road.

Tayside Police said Ryan Patrick Young, who was 38 and from the Perthshire area, died at the scene. The driver of the 4x4 was uninjured following the crash, which happened around 7.20am.

The road at the scene of the accident was closed to allow investigations to be carried out.

Police said they would like to speak to anyone who might have seen the accident, including the driver of a black Vauxhall Corsa who stopped at the scene to help.
