Motorcyclist hurt in crash

A MOTORCYCLIST suffered a broken leg in a collision with a van near a busy junction.

The 40-year-old motorcyclist was travelling west along London Road on his Honda motorbike when he was involved in the collision with a Transit van, a short distance from the junction with Easter Road.

He was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment following the incident, which took place at around 10.15am yesterday. The van driver was not injured in the crash.

A police spokesman said: "Police are working to establish the circumstances of the collision, and are appealing for any witnesses to get in touch on 0131 311 3131."
