Motorcyclist dead after crash with lorry on Nitshill Road junction in Glasgow

62-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene following a serious road crash involving a lorry and a motorbike.

A motorcyclist has died following a crash with a lorry at the junction between Nitshill Road and Parkhouse Road, Glasgow.

Police and the Scottish Ambulance Service were called to the scene, at the junction of Nitshill Road and Parkhouse Road in the south side of the city, at 10am on Saturday.

The motorcyclist, a 62-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed and diversions were put in place as police carried out investigations into the crash.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Around 10am on Saturday, 29 August, 2020, officers were called to Parkhouse Road at the junction with Nitshill Road in Glasgow following a serious road crash involving a lorry and a motorbike.

“The motorcyclist, a 62-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The road remains closed as the investigation into the circumstances continues. Local diversions are in place.”
