Moon goes extra miles

DISABLED athlete Chris Moon began an epic 1080-mile run across the UK from Edinburgh today. He kicked off the Post Office Multi-distance Challenge from Holyrood Park to raise funds for Barnardo's.

Ex-Army captain Mr Moon, from Glasgow, who lost his right arm and leg while supervising mine clearance in Mozambique, was joined by Postman Pat and Edinburgh schoolchildren at the start of the challenge. The 48-year-old aims to run an average of 36 miles a day.
