AN ELDERLY monk who has been a member of a Lothian monastery for 50 years has been reported to the procurator fiscal in connection with alleged indecent assaults on two women.

Father Luke McNally, of the Sancta Maria Abbey at Nunraw, East Lothian, was charged over the alleged sex attacks last August.

The 88-year-old was accused of two incidents of indecent assault. The Crown Office has now received a report from police over the charges, but he has not yet appeared in court.
