Money advice events help 1000 people

MORE than 1000 people took part in the first ever Better Off: West Lothian Money Week.

More than 50 free events and activities took place last month to get people thinking and talking about how they could save cash.

Events were targeted in three main categories to match in with how people view their personal finances – skint, surviving and saving – and aimed to help show people what they could do to try and improve their finances.

Council leader Peter Johnston said: “I’m delighted that the first ever Better Off: West Lothian Money Week managed to reach so many local people.

“It’s an excellent achievement to have over 1000 people at events over the course of the week, all aimed at getting them thinking about how they could save money.

“Managing finances can be complicated, but there’s a huge amount of help and advice available to make sure you get the most out of your income or benefits.”
