Mo the merrier for hairy dads

A GROUP of dads from the Lothians has raised nearly £10,000 for charity by growing moustaches for Movember.

Dr Pete McLean, a consultant at St John's Hospital in Livingston, and Iain Smith, from law firm Keegan Smith, were among the 18-strong BalmerMo Dads who have so far raised 9100 for Prostate Cancer Charity.

The group began clean shaven on November 1 and stayed faithful to the vow not to shave until November 30.

The dads have been rated as the 30th highest fundraising group in the UK, despite being up against some of the country's biggest businesses, including RBS and Credit Suisse.

Mr Smith said the team was fortunate to attract donations from top QC Donald Findlay and Scotland rugby internationals Chris Paterson, Hugo Southwell and Mike Blair.
