Mixologist in the final five

A CITY bartender has been named one of the UK's best mixologists after being shortlisted for a national cocktail competition.

Tigerlily's Joey Medrington has been chosen to tour Barcelona, Valencia and Ibiza Town along with four other budding drinks mixers to determine who will serve as ambassador to Spanish liqueur Licor 43.

If Joey wins he will hold cocktail classes and in-bar training for mixologists, along with collecting the 4,000 prize.

Karen Fowler, UK brand manager for Licor 43, said: "Joey joins an elite group of mixologists."
