Missing woman believed to be in Fort William

POLICE looking for a missing woman, following an out of character disappearance, believe that she may have travelled to the Fort William area.

Linda McGowan, 49, was last seen at her home in Balfron, Stirlingshire, on 3 July.

Inspector Brian Sharkey, who is leading the search, said: "We have received information which suggests she is in the Fort William area and we are appealing for anyone who may have seen her or who may have seen her car to contact us.

"It is completely out of character for Linda to go missing. We and Linda's family are growing increasingly concerned for her and we need to know where she is and that she is safe and well."

Ms McGowan is described as 5ft 4in, of medium build, with shoulder length blonde hair. She is believed to be driving a silver Vauxhall Corsa, with registration KY54 TXG. Anyone with information should contact police on 01786 456000 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
