Lee Gibb was found in the Dundee area around 2:30pm this afternoon, after members of the public contacted police following an appeal.
Concern had been growing for the welfare of the missing 43-year-old but he has now been traced safe and well, police have said.
Mr Gibb vanished from his home in Craigmillar, in the south east of the capital, on Friday, and was last seen in Watson Crescent at around 4pm.
Police Scotland said Mr Gibb, who has learning difficulties, has previously used his bus pass to travel throughout the country.
Officers would like to thank those who assisted with this inquiry.
