Missing Briton found safe in New Zealand

A BRITISH tourist who sparked a search-and-rescue operation while trekking in New Zealand has been found safe.

James Esbester, from Hampshire, began his walk on the Wangapeka track in Kahurangi National Park on South Island last Wednesday and hadn't been seen since Thursday. He was spotted by a rescue helicopter six miles off his intended route.
