Missing angler found dead

an ANGLER whose body was recovered from the River South Esk in Angus has been named as Michael Anstice, 81, from Kirriemuir.

Mr Anstice had been fishing at the Inshewan Estate on a stretch of the river north of Forfar on Thursday morning when he went missing. His body was recovered from the fast-flowing river in a search involving Tayside Fire and Rescue, the Tayside Mountain Rescue Team, the Scottish Ambulance Service and a Sea King search and rescue helicopter from RAF Lossiemouth.

Tayside Police said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
