Miracle escape: 6 survive valley plunge

A FATHER yesterday has described his family's "miracle" escape after a horror car smash saw them crashing through trees down an embankment.

Simon Duncan was driving his Ford S-Max when it careered off a road, near Kincardine O'Neil, in Aberdeenshire, plunged down a steep valley and landed on its roof.

His wife Janis, 34, and their children Logan, six, Conor, three, and Jamie Watt, 11, who is Janis's son from a previous relationship, were also in the people carrier vehicle, along with Jamie's friend Michael McDonald, 11.

Despite their terrifying ordeal, none of the the family was badly injured in the crash, which happened on an unclassified road at the weekend.

Mr Duncan, from Aberdeen, said: "It was a miracle that nobody was badly hurt.

"I banged my head on the roof of the car and suffered concussion, and that was the worst injury any of us got.

"The important thing was the children were ok, that was obviously my major concern at the time.

"Thankfully they were all fine.

"Conor viewed it being as like a rollercoaster, and he was saying he wanted to do it again."
