Minister set to visit school

PUPILS at Oxgangs Primary School are today due to meet Environment Minister Stewart Stevenson to take a closer look at Scottish marine life.

The youngsters are taking part in the Marine Detectives Programme and have a “mobile rock pool” in their classroom to help teach them about the marine species found on beaches in Scotland.

The scheme investigates the impact of litter, pollution and fishing activities on marine ecosystems.

Mr Stevenson is due to visit the school in Oxgangs Road North this afternoon.
