Men threatened with knives in gang attacks

A GANG robbed four men in separate attacks being linked by police.

Up to seven men, described as Asian, threatened their victims in the West End of Glasgow in the early hours of yesterday.

The first robbery was at 4:15am when the group approached two men, aged 25 and 28, on Berkeley Street, threatened them with a blade then stole their phones before running towards Argyle Street.

Another two men, aged 21 and 23, were then approached by a group of Asian men one hour later on Dumbarton Road.

The pair were surrounded and threatened with a knife before they were robbed of their phones and watch.

None of the victims was injured, but police said they were badly shaken. Detective Constable Brian Watt of Strathclyde Police added: "It is absolutely unacceptable for groups to be trawling the streets and robbing people. We are carrying out extensive inquiries including looking at CCTV to establish the identity of these males."
