Men face court over tourist's death

TOP security will be in place today as the three men suspected of killing British tourist Anni Dewani are due to appear together in court in South Africa.

Zola Tongo, the driver of the car in which the victim and her husband Shrien were travelling, has been arrested and charged with murder and hijack after 28-year-old Mrs Dewani's body was discovered in the back of his Volkswagen Sharan hours after the incident in Gugulethu.

He is due to appear in court alongside fellow suspects Xolile Mngeni, 23, and Mzwamadoda Qwabe, 26.

However police have repeatedly said the investigation remains active.

The report of the apparent new manhunt followed a police identity parade on Saturday in which two local witnesses apparently picked the three suspects out of a line-up.

A male and female witness were driven into the Manenberg police station amid high security at about 12pm on Saturday to try and identify the trio from a line-up of 12 men.

Speaking afterwards, lawyers representing the suspects confirmed all three had been positively identified.
