McTernan gets Citizens Advice Scotland role

CITIZENS Advice Scotland has named its new chief executive.

Lucy McTernan, who is currently deputy chief executive of the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations, has been given the job and will take up the post in November.

Her appointment comes after her predecessor, Howard McKenzie, was forced to stand down after just a week in the job.

Mr McKenzie had quit as principal of Jewel and Esk Valley College following an investigation into a 20 million funding shortfall.

Ms McTernan, who was a campaign adviser to Donald Dewar in 1999, has been with SCVO for the past 17 years, and has been its deputy chief executive since 2007.
