McDonald's lovin' its licence

FAST-food giant McDonald's has applied to renew a licence that allows it to operate until the early hours of the morning.

The restaurant already has a licence that allows it to open until 2am during the week and 3am at weekends. It has now applied for the late-hours catering licence to be renewed.

Police say they have no objections to the proposal, but say there should be a condition stating registered stewards have to be present on Friday and Saturday nights.
