Masterpiece to go on tour

A MASTERPIECE from the National Gallery of Scotland at The Mound is to go on a tour of Scotland to celebrate the first anniversary of its acquisition by the nation.

Titian's Diana and Actaeon was bought by the NGS and the National Gallery in London after a five-month campaign to raise 50 million.

It had previously been lent to the Edinburgh gallery by the Duke of Sutherland, one of the wealthiest men in the country.

From May, it will go on display in Aberdeen first, followed by Glasgow and then Dundee.
