Masterpiece of Titian is unveiled for public

TITIAN's masterpiece, Diana and Actaeon, which was purchased last year by the National Galleries of Scotland for £50 million from the Duke of Sutherland, has gone on show to the public at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow.

Last night, John Leighton, the NGS director general, said: "This painting has not been on public view outside London or Edinburgh for several centuries and we are thrilled that it will be on view in Glasgow, where the public will now have an opportunity to experience the power and magic of this great painting at firsthand."
