Martial arts school is given the go-ahead

A MARTIAL arts school offering training in one of the most popular styles of fighting in China is set to open in Fountainbridge.

Yee's Hung Ga, currently based at Methodist Church Central Hall in West Tollcross, has just gained planning permission to transform a warehouse in Lower Gilmore Place into a gym.

Hung Ga is known for its "devastating close-range hand techniques, built on the foundation of a strong rooted stance".

A spokesman added: "Hard and soft power is combined with five element and five animal techniques in order to achieve a complete system of health, self-defence and internal power."
