Man’s threats were ‘barking at the moon’

A MAN who shouted violent threats at his drinking buddies after being locked out of a house was “barking at the moon”, a court heard yesterday.

Greig Tod, 30, lost his temper when he came back from a round of golf to find his friends had locked him out.

Livingston Sheriff Court was told Mr Tod began to bang on the door of his friend’s house in Breich, West Lothian, shouting: “You better open that f***ing door now or you’re getting it”.

Peter Mullin, defending, said: “The accused was barking at the moon. He and his pal have since put this behind them and resurrected their friendship.”

Tod, from Breich, appeared for sentence yesterday after earlier pleading guilty to behaving in a threatening and abusive manner on August 8. He was sentenced to 12 months supervision under a community payback order.
