Man treated for smoke inhalation at scene of blaze

A MAN was treated for smoke inhalation after a small fire broke out at a home in Tollcross.

The fire started within a mattress in a flat on Lochrin Place at around 10.30am yesterday.

The man, thought to be aged around 30, was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene but declined hospital treatment.

A spokeswoman for Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service said: "We extinguished the fire using buckets of water.

"The male occupier was conscious and breathing, and suffered smoke inhalation."
