Man taken to hospital after flat fire

A MAN had to be taken to hospital with smoke inhalation after a fire in his flat in the Capital.

Firefighters were called to the home on Alan Breck Gardens in the Clermiston area of Edinburgh after reports of a burning smell coming from the building.

They discovered a fire in the living room of one of the flats when they attended at 10.30pm on Tuesday.

A man who was in the flat at the time had to be treated for smoke inhalation before being taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary by the ambulance service.

It took less than an hour for the small blaze to be brought under control by the firefighters.
