Man suffers life-threatening injuries after being struck by tractor in centre of town

A 23 year-old man was fighting for his life in hospital yesterday after being struck by a tractor in the main street of a Moray town.

The pedestrian, who has still to be named, was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was knocked down by a tractor on Sunday night on Fochabers' High Street. He was initially taken to Dr Gray's Hospital in Elgin with serious head injuries before being airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

A section of the High Street between East Street and West Morland Street was closed for around five hours following the incident to allow crash scene investigators to examine the scene of the accident.
