Man suffers head injuries in crash

AN ELDERLY man was involved in a car accident while crossing the road in Ayr, police said.

The 77-year-old was crossing Prestwick Road when the accident involving the Renault Megane being driven towards Prestwick happened.

The man was taken to Ayr Hospital where he is being treated for head injuries. Hospital staff described his condition as stable.
