Man stabbed in front of his son

A FATHER was last night being treated in hospital after he was stabbed in front of his son, who was celebrating his birthday.

The 46-year-old was attacked as he tried to get his 17-year-old son back into their house following a disturbance outside.

As he turned around he was stabbed in the back and knocked unconscious, police said.

The attack happened outside the family's home in Barmulloch, Glasgow, in the early hours of yesterday.

The family had been celebrating the teenager's birthday when the attack happened.

Police said his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
