The victim was taken to the city's Western Infirmary, where he was treated for stab wounds. His condition is described as stable.

Strathclyde Police are treating the assault as attempted murder.

Detective Constable Martin Davies, of Maryhill CID, appealed for witnesses to come forward.

He said: "I'd like to speak to anyone who may have been within the Strathmore Bar prior to 12.15am on Saturday and who may have seen the 21-year-old man leaving the premises.

"It is believed that those responsible for the attack may also have been in the pub during the evening."
