Man slapped with Asbo for music and fighting terror

A MAN accused of terrorising his neighbours by fighting and playing loud music has been hit with an Asbo.

Gerald Muir, of Eskview Crescent in Musselburgh, was given the antisocial behaviour order following an application to the court by East Lothian Council.

Complaints about the 49-year-old's behaviour in and around his home stretch back to June 2009.

The court heard details of Muir's alleged antisocial behaviour, which also included shouting, swearing, and slamming doors.

The terms ban Muir from playing loud music or shouting and swearing, slamming or banging doors within his home, fighting, and allowing visitors to shout and swear.

The council's antisocial behaviour team worked with police to compile a dossier of evidence against Muir.

Councillor Stuart Currie, the community safety leader, said: "The granting of this interim Asbo, I hope, will be a wake-up call to Mr Muir."
