Man seriously injured in fall

A MAN suffered serious head injuries after falling down steps outside a city centre nightclub.

The incident happened at 1.15am on Monday at the GHQ nightclub in Picardy Place.

The 40-year-old man fell from the pavement outside GHQ and down steps. He suffered serious head injuries and was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary before being transferred to the Western General, where he remained in a serious condition.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
