Man seriously injured in coach crash on A9

A MAN was being treated in hospital yesterday after a coach crashed with 37 people on board. The man sustained a "serious" injury after the vehicle crashed just north of the Berriedale Braes on the A9 road.

He was airlifted to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness after the crash shortly after 7:30pm on Friday.

A spokesman for Northern Constabulary said it was not thought that the man's injuries were life-threatening and no other vehicle was involved.

Another man was taken to Caithness General Hospital with minor injuries.

Police said inquiries were still ongoing into the cause of the crash.

The road was closed in both directions while police investigated the scene.
