Man 'scarred for life' after attack

A MAN has been left scarred for life after being attacked in a park in broad daylight.

The 37-year-old was slashed across the face after being approached from behind by two men at around 8am yesterday as he helped set up a burger van in Kay Park, Kilmarnock. He was taken to hospital and has been left with a "horrific injury".

Detective Constable Michael Grant, of Strathclyde Police, said: "We have no clear motive for the attack, but we do know the victim did not provoke the men.

"I would ask anyone who was in the area of Kay Park or Grassyards Road and saw the two suspects to contact us."

One of the suspects is described as between 20 and 30 years old, about 5ft 6in to 5ft 8in and wearing blue clothing and a baseball cap. The other suspect was around 30 years old and was wearing a long blue jacket and beanie-style hat.
