Man robbed by thugs after trip to bookies

A MAN who had just left a bookmakers was assaulted and robbed by three men.

The 25-year-old victim had left the Scotbet shop in Woodburn Road in Dalkeith and had walked into Woodburn Avenue and then Woodburn Park, when he was approached by three men.

One of the men punched him in the face, and robbed him of a small amount of cash at 6:15pm on Saturday. The suspect is described as white, mid-thirties, 5ft 8in to 5ft 9in tall, stocky build, clean-shaven, and wearing a red baseball cap and a white jacket.

The second suspect is described as white, 5ft 8in tall, skinny build, with dark hair and dark clothing. The third man is white, 6ft 2in tall, medium build, with dark hair and dark clothing.

A police spokesman said: "We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the assault, or who was in the Woodburn area of Dalkeith on Saturday afternoon and noticed the suspects, to contact police."
