Man robbed at knifepoint in Dalkeith

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was robbed at knifepoint in Midlothian.

The incident happened between 7pm and 7.30pm on Friday in Woodburn Avenue, Dalkeith.

A 37-year-old man was walking in the area when two men approached him and presented knives before demanding he hand over his possessions.

The victim gave them his laptop bag containing his laptop and both men made off southwards, along Woodburn Avenue.

Police are now urging anyone who can assist with their enquiries to come forward.

The first suspect is described as white with a stocky build, fair hair and wearing a grey t-shirt and light-coloured jeans.

The second suspect is described as white with a thinner build, black hair and wearing a black jacket and trousers.

A police spokesman said: “The victim was not injured during this robbery. However, he was left very shaken after being threatened at knifepoint and we are keen to speak with anyone who can help us identify those responsible.

“Anyone who was in or around Woodburn Avenue on Friday evening and remembers seeing anything suspicious is asked to contact police immediately.
