Man rescued after pan fire

FIRE crews have rescued a man from a blaze after a pan of food caused a fire at his home in Granton.

Two firefighters entered the ground floor flat on Wardieburn Street West at around 11.15pm last night and rescued the man, who was suffering from smoke inhalation.

A spokesman for Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue said: "Two firefighters entered the premises and a male casualty was removed."

The man did not need hospital treatment.
